Republic of Belarus - Kherson region, Ukraine: New directions of bilateral cooperation. July 7, 2020

On July 7, 2020 the Minsk Branch of the BelCCI together with the Kherson CCI organized and held an online business meeting between enterprises of the Republic of Belarus and the Kherson region, Ukraine.


The Ukrainian and Belarusian parties introduced the manufacturers of earthmoving equipment on the basis of OJSC “Minsk Tractor Works”, fruit and vegetable juices, electric welding equipment and track equipment, antiseptics and disinfectants; the companies, providing freight forwarding services, food wholesalers, IT representatives.


The opening of the online business meeting was attended by Director General of the Minsk Branch of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Sergey Nabeshko, President of the Kherson Chamber of Commerce and Industry Viktoria Ostroumova, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Republic of Belarus Igor Kizim, Advisor on Trade and Economic Affairs of the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in Ukraine Sergey Tomashov, BelCCI representative in Ukraine Sergey Marusenko.


Despite external circumstances, the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Belarus and Ukraine have successfully mastered the new forms of joint work, as evidenced by the interest of enterprises in the common business cooperation – more, than 40 Belarusian and Ukrainian participants took part in the online event. This was underlined by heads of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry Sergey Nabeshko and Victoria Ostroumova in their speeches.


The initiatives of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry were supported by Advisor on Trade and Economic Affairs of the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in Ukraine Sergey Tomashov, who noted in his speech that today's event would assist in finding new areas of cooperation and contribute to the growth of mutual trade.


Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Republic of Belarus Igor Kizim pointed out in his speech that the event is the evidence of success of the regional policy, carried out, in particular, on the eve of the Third Forum of Regions of Ukraine and the Republic of Belarus:

“Despite the decrease in the total volumes of mutual trade in January-April of the current year the tendency towards the development of cooperation with Belarus at the regional level continues. I would also like to report on additional opportunities to enhance the presence of Ukrainian business in Belarus. We are talking about the Honorary Consulates of Ukraine in Grodno and Vitebsk”.


The Minsk Branch of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry continues the practice of bilateral online business meetings with the participation of enterprises of the Republic of Belarus and foreign partners on a regular basis. In July online business meetings will be held with entrepreneurs from the Republic of Turkey and the People's Republic of China.
